Unfortunately as of December 2021 Farmdrop has gone out of business and so their refer a friend offer is no longer valid.
It is a real shame as they were an ethical company that seemed to be doing good things connecting farmers with customers directly, especially those with principles that wished to support organic and responsible food production.
If you visit their website you can still find a few links to their suppliers if you want to continue supporting them, although without the Farmdrop website and app interface it is now harder to do, but nothing is impossible.
It is fair to say that Farmdrop had been struggling for a while, especially after the debacle of Christmas 2020 which upset so many of their customers the damage to their reputation was clearly too much to recover from. Last December for some reason the company took more orders than it had the capacity to fulfil and so in the last week of the run up to Christmas it started informing its loyal followers that it might not be able to deliver their orders, leaving customers unable to properly plan their Christmas meals. It also would not allow customers to cancel orders and get refunds which ruined many people’s Christmas Days and Boxing Days. The horrendous farce did so much damage to the trust their customers had in them that many left vowing never to use the company again. It’s now clear that this affected so many of their customers that it ultimately led to the downfall of the brand which did exactly the same thing again this year! Taking orders they could never fulfil, only this time they went bust leaving customers out of pocket and without their food with only days to go before Christmas.
So while it is sad to see a company disappear it seems this one wasn’t run with the same ethics that it expected of it’s suppliers.
